Framer has four plans: Free at $0, Basic at $10 a month, Pro at $30 a month, and a custom-priced Enterprise plan. Each paid plan is per site, and editors are billed on top. I built my own portfolio in Framer, but this article is about the pricing itself, so every figure below comes from Framer’s pricing page and help pages, checked on 18 October 2026.
If you’re still deciding between builders, see Framer vs Webflow for designers. For the steps once you’ve picked Framer, see how to build a portfolio in Framer.
The plans at a glance
| Free | Basic | Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $10/mo | $30/mo |
| Custom domain | No | Yes | Yes |
| Site pages | 1,000 (per Framer’s FAQ) | 30 | 150 |
| CMS collections | 10 (per Framer’s FAQ) | 2 | 10 |
| CMS items | Not listed | 1,000 | 2,500 |
| Bandwidth | 1 GB | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| Analytics history | Not listed | 30 days | 90 days |

Basic and Pro prices are per month, billed according to the cycle you choose at checkout. Pro also adds site redirects, staging, and branching with previews.
Which plan do you need for a portfolio?
Free is for building and testing. You get a Framer domain, not your own, so it isn’t what you’d send to a client or employer.
Basic is the plan most portfolios fit on. You get your own domain, 2 CMS collections and 1,000 CMS items, which is plenty for case studies and a small blog. The limit to watch is 30 site pages. I haven’t confirmed whether Framer counts each CMS item’s page toward that limit, so check this before you plan a big portfolio.
Pro is for a larger site: 150 pages, 10 collections and 2,500 items, plus staging and branching. Most solo designers won’t need it.
What the sticker price leaves out
- Editors. Additional editors, who can design, edit content and publish, are $20 each. Content editors, who update the CMS, are $10 each. Viewers and the workspace owner are free. Editor seats are billed separately from site plans.
- Pro overages. On Pro, extra pages are $20 per 100 (up to 700), extra CMS collections are $40 per 10 (up to 40), extra CMS items are $20 per 10,000 (up to 40,000), and extra bandwidth is $40 per 100 GB (up to 2 TB).
- Languages. Translation locales are $20 per locale, up to 20, on Basic and Pro.
- Add-ons. A/B testing and funnels (Convert) are $50 per 500,000 events, and advanced hosting is $200.
How billing works
- You choose monthly or yearly billing. Monthly billing is charged at the start of each month. Yearly billing is charged upfront for the full year and renews on the anniversary.
- Framer’s pricing page lists a complimentary domain with yearly billing on Basic and Pro.
- Editors you add are billed monthly, whatever your plan’s billing cycle.
- If you cancel, your plan benefits remain until the end of the current billing cycle. Framer’s help page doesn’t say what happens to a published site after that, so check before you cancel a live site.
- If you downgrade before the period ends, the unused value becomes account credit. Framer says the credit is non-refundable, and it’s applied to future invoices.
- Refunds: Framer’s help pages give conflicting windows, so read its current Refund Policy before you pay for a year.
How it compares
Framer’s Basic at $10 a month is cheaper to start than Webflow’s Basic at $15 a month, which has no CMS. I compare them in Framer vs Webflow for designers. For the lowest-cost ways to host a portfolio overall, see the cheapest way to host a portfolio site.

Questions people ask
How much does Framer cost?
Framer has four plans: Free at $0, Basic at $10 a month, Pro at $30 a month, and Enterprise at a custom price. Basic and Pro prices are monthly figures, billed according to the billing cycle you choose at checkout.
Can I use my own domain on Framer's free plan?
No. The Free plan gives you a Framer domain, and connecting your own domain needs a paid plan. Framer's pricing page lists a complimentary domain with yearly billing on Basic and Pro.
Do I pay extra for editors?
Yes. Additional editors who can design, edit content and publish are $20 each, and content editors who only update the CMS are $10 each. Viewers and the workspace owner are free. Editor seats are billed separately from site plans.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Cancelling doesn't automatically earn a refund. Framer says refunds aren't provided for unused time in an active term, and if you downgrade, the unused value becomes account credit that can't be refunded. Its help pages give conflicting refund windows, so read the current Refund Policy before you buy.
